- Are you an atheist because you've never heard about Christianity / Catholicism / Islam / God / Jesus / the Bible / etc.?
No, I'm not. And neither are most atheists. We are not atheists because we have never heard the messages of the various religious teachings. In fact, in many cases, those very teachings are what led people to consider atheism as an alternative philosophy. Simply telling me the "good news" (whatever version of it you have) is not going to change my mind, because I've heard it all before. My atheism is a result of my thoughts about religions and philosophies as much as anything else.
- Are you an atheist because you hate God?
No, I am an atheist because I have no belief in god. I cannot hate a creature which I do not believe exists. That would be like hating the tooth fairy or the easter bunny. Likewise I am not rebelling against god (or my father, for you Freudians out there).
- Are you an atheist so you don't have to be moral and/or fear judgment?
This question implies that there is some outside reason to be moral, or judgment to be had. If I was an atheist because of those things, I would not really be an atheist, because I would have to believe in god (or some other supernatural force) to believe in those things. I am moral because I choose to be, because it is best for myself, for those around me, and for society. The only judgment I fear is that of the law, and my own personal judgment for or against myself.
