Ask Kimmy

Have you ever had a question that only another unbeliever could answer? Maybe you need to know how to break the news to a friend. Or maybe you need to figure out how to deal with the fundamentalist in the next cubicle. Maybe you just need someone to tell you that you've done the right thing?

That's where Kimmy's Atheist Site's brand new feature comes in. The message board has been dropped from the Writings section and been replaced by an advise column, Ask Kimmy. Now, I don't claim to be any kind of certified expert. Goodness knows I don't have any formal training. But plenty of people have asked me for advise in the past, and I'm sure plenty more will. With this new column everyone will be able to benefit.

A few things, though. Letters must come complete with aliases. I don't want to embarrass anybody, or let anybody's secrets out. I also can't accept letters from minors for legal reasons. Otherwise, all questions and concerns are welcome. Letters may be edited for language or content, as I do run a family-friendly site. If I receive a great many letters I may not be able to answer them all, but I will do my level best to help. So, if you have a problem or know someone else who does, check out the new column.

Celebrate this fourth of July with a few items especially for us nonbelievers. Remind the flag-waving Christian in your neighborhood that you are just as much an American as he is. This country belongs to the people who are willing to stand up for what they believe - or for what they don't believe. The logos below, all reading "Atheist - Patriot - Citizen," are available on a mulitude of items at

Last but certainly not least, Kimmy's Atheist Site has gone through it's first re-design in quite awhile. I have brought all the HTML code up to WC3 standards, so that should help improve how the site is rendered in different browsers. The new design relies very heavily on server side includes and cascading style sheets, however, so older browsers may have difficulties.

The basic look of the site is the same, but I have taken it out of frames. This is for several reasons, not least of which is the large number of visitors I receive through search engines. When they hit upon an interior page they don't get the frames and therefore may miss out on a lot of what the site has to offer. The new design has solved that problem completely.

I hope that you'll like the new look, and that it will continue to look good for you. If you have any problems or if you find any broken links (I re-created every page on the site), please let me know.

This email is being sent only because you (or someone else with full access to your email account) subscribed to receive it. If for any reason you no longer wish to receive this newsletter, it is fairly easy to unsubscribe. Just go to the newsletter page on the site. Near the bottom of the page you will find a form to fill out. Within twenty-four hours of your having done so (barring catastrophes in my off-line life) you will receive an email confirming that you wish to unsubscribe. Once you've replied to that email your name will immediately be taken off of the mailing list and you will not hear from me again.

See you next month!
